Ice Safety

During winter Beaver Dam Lake is used for ice fishing, skating, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and other winter sports However, before venturing onto the ice please check to see it is safe. Below is a guide published by the MN Dept of Natural Resources.

Also be cautious:

• • Near the shoreline where there is incoming water
  • In the area of springs
  • Where there are “heaves” in the ice (see below)
  • Areas where winter aeration is taking place
